CeleSoirée 5 in 2009: a huge success!

For the fifth year in a row, more than 60 ILAP volunteers transformed The Portland Company warehouse into a hip gallery space with over 175 items up for auction, donated by Maine’s art and business community. Jordan Benissan opened the party with lively African drumming and dancing, followed by the dynamic Celtic rhythms of Boghat and ending in a spontaneous performance uniting the two sounds. Greater Portland’s premier restaurants, with help from Black Tie Catering and Local Sprouts Cooperative, donated delicious hors d’oeuvres from every corner of the world.

With the combined support of well over 500 attendees and so many local artists and businesses, ILAP raised more than $30,000 to directly support the desperately needed legal assistance and advocacy that ILAP provides for Maine’s low-income immigrants. We thank all who supported ILAP by contributing to and attending CeleSoirée 5!
