Need Legal Help?
Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project

Sunday, June 26th at 12:15pm
Black Bear Medical, Marginal Way, Portland

The beautiful new Bayside Trail is "up and running", and so are we, as we bring back the second annual ILAP'd a 5k road race. With more trails and fewer streets, come brag and say you've lapped a 5K by running, or walking, to benefit the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project! Immediately following the run, stick around to watch high quality soccer matches by the Portland United Soccer League. This is a day for the whole family! What better way to celebrate our multi-cultural community, with runners of all levels and highly skilled soccer players enjoying a beautiful Maine summer day for a great cause.

ILAP honors its 2010 Volunteers
In December ILAP held its annual volunteer appreciation event. Honored at the event were Lisa Adams, J.D., Jill Welch, Sister Patricia Pora, Robyn March, Esq., Jamie Wagner, Esq., and Drummond Woodsum. Lisa Adams has volunteered at ILAP since September 2009, providing support to ILAP's Immigration Clinic and to our asylum representation efforts. Most recently she has created a new website for volunteer attorneys on ILAP's Pro bono Immigration Panel, that will be an instrumental resource to them as they represent ILAP clients seeking asylum in the U.S. Jill Welch volunteers each week in ILAP's Immigration Clinic, preparing residency, citizenship and family reunification applications under attorney supervision for ILAP clients. Sister Patricia Pora, of the Sisters of Mercy, works closely with Latinos in Maine and has been an instrumental source of support for ILAP's Latino clients as we assist them with their r immigration processes.
